Ones

In the dynamic environment of our One year old toddler room, your child is motivated to explore and engage in their world.  Our approach includes a balance of child-directed and teacher-initiated activities to help your child to feel safe in varied environments and to instill a lifelong love of learning.  This is the prime age for your child to develop socialization skills by initiating sharing, communicating, empathy and self-regulation in the ever-changing world.

The Ones Classes have a maximum of 8 students with 2 teachers.  They meet from 8:00-11:30 am,  two days a week...either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday.

Twos

Two-year-olds are energetic and naturally curious about their surrounding environment and ready to absorb new vocabulary words, develop fine and gross motor skills, and begin to understand the concept of cooperative play. The two-year-old program is often a student’s first school experience. Our teachers gently guide these early learners in a creative environment. The classroom is designed to offer young children exploration opportunities and social play with friends. Well-designed play areas foster social, motor and academic growth as children move from independent to cooperative play.

The Twos Classes have a maximum of 10 students with 2 teachers.  They meet from 8:00-11:30 am, two days a week...either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday.

Threes

Three-year-old children experience a period of intense growth as their bodies begin to develop new physical skills such as jumping, running, climbing, as well as listening, speaking, sequencing, and memory-building skills.  The “threes year” is the time to directly address school procedures, rules, expectations and learning, all while having fun.  New physical abilities make movement in the classroom vital for their young bodies and minds to exploring the world around them.  Our program also introduces your child to our “Alphabet Zoo” and other appropriate multisensory pre-reading activities.  We encourage independent accomplishments and extended attention as well as more thoughtful communication of needs.  In addition, the three-year-old child is ready to seek out other children and begin to build peer relationships all while showing the ability to resolve conflicts.  This is a crucial year for positive redirection and affirmation.

The Three Classes have a maximum of 14 students with 2 teachers.  They meet from 8:00-11:30 am. 3 days per week, Monday/Wednesday /Friday or Tuesday/Thursday/Friday.

Fours (Pre-K)

Your talkative child is at the prime age for developing pre-reading and writing skills and forming social relations with peers. At Grace, the 4 year old program is designed to help build a strong foundation for school success.  The thematic structure will help to build independence in your child while preparing for success in Kindergarten.  We teach your child the cognitive and social-emotional skills that will help him/her become a lifelong learner: problem solving, self-regulation, independence, interactive learning, and collaborative play.  Our theme based units are organized to address language, reading, writing, math, science, social studies, creative arts, motor skills, and social development. This age child is very curious about their world and enjoys imitating others.  Our teaching provides your child the opportunity to learn through “purposeful play”, new experiences, hands- on activities, games and pretend play.

The Fours Program has a maximum of 24 students with 3 teachers.  They meet from 8:00-11:30 am, 5 days a week...Monday through Friday.

Music

Students at Grace have the opportunity to attend Music class once a week. They are exposed to a variety of musical styles, instruments and games, as well as a different classroom and authority figure.  Music enriches all of our lives and the youngest are no exception.  Special events that incorporate our Music class include Christmas Programs (2s and 3s), a Christmas Pageant (4s) and Graduation for 4s.
